Note: After opening the ceiling window, guests are able to stand up while driving.
We will arrive at Pejaten Village, where we will do a short 20-30 minutes stop to see how every family has a little factory of roof tiles at their home, as approximately 45-55% of the villagers are working in this sector. Then we will do another cultural shortstop, this time to see the traditional ceramic making process in a famous factory in Bali.
After the ceramic we will continue our tour towards the traditional market of Kerambitan to see how the local market is very important for the local business and daily lifestyle in the area of the village.
From Kerambitan market we will drive to the coffee break point, through the village of Meliling and passing through cocoa plantations, local gardens and vegetables. Prior to arriving we will do a short stop at the artificial lake/dam of Telaga Tunjung, where our professional English speaking driver will explain to you about water irrigation. It is a source of water from the mountains into each individual rice field by an intricate network of channels and aqueducts, whose maintenance and regulation are governed by local cooperative organizations called “Subak”. We will discover amazing and non-touristic wide terrace rice fields.
Then you will have some free time to enjoy the fields by yourself and take thousands of photos of the astonishing panoramic views over the huge terrace rice fields. The tour continues to Pesagi Village, where a local Balinese family will invite you for a Balinese Coffee or Tea at their traditional house, while your driver from Bali Jeep Tours will explain to you about the different buildings of a Balinese traditional house.
After having a coffee or tea at the break point in the family house, then we will drive through the interior countryside which has an amazing overlooking view of the rice terrace booths side until we arrive at the next stop at “Tamba Waras Temple”. The Temple of Tamba Waras, built in the 12th century, has a historical record, as the King of Tabanan Cokorda Tabanan suffered from severe illness and no medicine worked for him. The royal servants tried to search for medicine according to the magic clue that they had received. They then saw some smoke coming from a coconut on the ground in a bamboo forest! After researching at that place, finally they found some medicine there. That medicine was then given to the King, and it cured him from the disease. Due to this reason, at that place a temple was built named Tamba Waras Temple. Tamba Waras derives from the word ‘Tamba’ + ‘Waras’. ‘Tamba’ means “medicine”, ‘Waras’ means “back to normal”.
We will then continue to the next stop at the local restaurant to have Lunch with organic food, while we will be able to feel the rural and The Secret of Bali which shows the real typical Bali.
Finally after lunch we will drive through villages passing little narrow roads with magnificent views on both sides and enter the famous terraced rice fields of Jatiluwih and stop to take some photos.
We will then drive back to your Hotel, with estimated arrival time, depending on the traffic, at 16:30-17:00h, with the hope that you have enjoyed the Nature and Adventure in Bali
